Deborah T. (Lukis) Watts

March 3, 1956 — December 4, 2024

Deborah (Lukis) Watts of Wrentham. Passed away on December 4, 2024. She was 68 years old.

Born in Norwood, Deborah spent many years working with visually impaired and blind students as a peripatologist, helping them navigate their surroundings and walking through them with confidence. She worked with children of all ages, typically staying with them from a young age right through to their high school graduation, but in one instance helped a blind infant learn to crawl with the use of audio cues. She also helped train seeing eye dogs. In her spare time, Deborah enjoyed training her own dogs in agility and nosework for regional competitions. While in Los Angeles working for her Master's Degree, she met the love of her life, Edwin. They spent time traveling to their favorite vacation spot in Ensenada, Mexico, before marrying and moving back east. She joined Edwin on some work trips to Europe and Bermuda, but her favorite destination was her home in Eastham. She had traveled to Eastham and the outer Cape since she was a child and owning a home there was a dream come true. Above all else, Deborah was happiest spending time with her family and her beloved labs, Curry and Abby.

Deborah was the dear and devoted wife of Edwin Watts. Dear stepmother of Jeffrey Watts and his wife Michele Igawa of Kansas. Cherished 'Grandma Deborah" of Jeffrey Jr. and Lily. Loving daughter of the late Stanley and Gertrude (Samson) Lukis. Dear sister of the late David Lukis. Sister-in-law of LaJune Hughes of Oklahoma and Michelle Watts of California. She is also survived by many loving cousins.
