Katherine M. (Yakutis) Perednia

PEREDNIA, KATHERINE M. (Yakutis) of Norwood passed away on October 16, 2024 at the age of 95. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Antanas and Margaret (Brazauskas) Yakutis. Beloved sister of the late Anthony J. (Barbara) and Robert Kazys Yakutis. Devoted mother of Katherine de Poitiers of Ludlow, MA, Mary P. Landy of Bronxville, NY, and the late John D. and Joseph P. Perednia. Cherished grandmother of Katie Boates-Goudreau (Justin), Thomas Boates (Elizabeth), Christopher Landy, and Michael Landy. Great grandmother of Charlotte and Jackson Boates. Treasured aunt of Susan A. Yakutis of Effingham, NH, Peter J. Yakutis (Pat) of Carlisle, MA, Steven A. Yakutis (Guy) of Canton, MA, Marcia Perednia of Norwood, MA, and the late Gabrielle Farnsworth (Jonathan). Katherine was deeply dedicated to her family, her friends, and her faith. She was a longtime organist, choir leader, parishioner, and member of the Ladies Sodality at St. George Roman Catholic Church in Norwood. She was also a member of the Knights of Lithuania, beginning in Worcester and continuing in Norwood. All services will be private. The burial will be held at a later date at the Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester, MA.
