Catherine "Cappy" P. (Shea) Barry

BARRY, CATHERINE P. "Cappy" (Shea) of Norwood passed away suddenly on June 25, 2022 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Paul C. Barry. Devoted mother of Paul A. Barry and his wife Suzanne of Norwood and Diane Barry Cooney and her husband Paul Cooney of E. Sandwich. Sister of the late Jeremiah "Jerry" Shea and John Shea. Cherished grandmother of Paul Barry Jr., Samantha Barry, Caitlin Cooney, Meaghan Cooney, Jeremiah Cooney and Erin Cooney. Daughter of the late Jeremiah J. and Nora (Donahue) Shea. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Catherine was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood for over 45 years. She grew up in Mission Hill and was proud of her time spent at Mission Church and at Mission Hill High School. She enjoyed vacations to Poland Springs, Ireland, and Italy. Among her favorite things to do were watching her beloved Red Sox and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Catherine was a longtime employee for John Hancock and retired from New England Mobile X-Ray company as a bookkeeper. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Friday July 1, 2022 at 10am followed by a funeral mass at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4-8pm. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Catherine of Siena Church 547 Washington St. Norwood, MA 02062.
