Alice C. (Mccarty) O'Brien

O’BRIEN, ALICE C. (McCarty) of FALMOUTH formerly of Norwood and Walpole passed away on January 29, 2025.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Helen (Kelly) McCarty of W. Roxbury and graduated from St. Thomas High School.

Alice was an active member in her church including volunteer work and supporting those in need. She was also a Hospice Caregiver for many years. She mostly enjoyed spending time near the ocean, especially with her children and grandchildren.

She was a long-time resident of Norwood and Walpole and formerly married to the late Peter O’Brien of Foxborough. Alice was the beloved mother of Kevin and Kimberly O’Brien of Oxford, GA; Mark and Julie O’Brien of Charlotte, NC; Peter and Laura O’Brien of Walpole, MA; Diane and Rick Stillman of North Sandwich, NH; Karrell and Andy Bowles of Ft. Myers, FL; and Mary and Michael Hogan of Norfolk, MA. She was the sister of Mary Gilbert of Yarmouth, MA and the late Helene Dorion and Lorraine Ryan, Norwood, MA and Daniel McCarty of W. Roxbury, MA.
She will also be missed by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Ellis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Norwood for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10 -11 am at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA 02062 followed by a burial at Highland Cemetery, Winter St. Norwood, MA.
