Ann M. “Nancy” Briggs, age 82, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was the loving and devoted wife for 61 wonderful years to Harold “Harry” Briggs of Norwood.
Born in Stoughton, MA, Nancy was one of nine children born to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (McDonald) Hurley. She was raised in Sharon and was a graduate from Sharon Highschool with the Class of 1959. Nancy had the ever so important role of being a Homemaker to her dedicated family. She took great pride in providing a safe and comforting home for her family and all who entered her doors.
In her spare time, Nancy liked to travel, go shopping, play the slot machines at the casino, and get her steps in on her daily walks. She was very creative and enjoyed arts & crafts, along with decorating her house for the holidays. Above all, she treasured the time spent and memories made with her devoted children, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her proud and cherished children: Carolyn Hutchens and her husband David of Norwood, Susan Melia and her husband Joe of Denver, CO, Michael Briggs and his wife Joan of Norwood, and Scott Briggs and his wife Heather of Medfield; her 10 grandchildren: Chris, Tyler, Kayla and her husband Nick, Griffin, Nolan, Sean, Ashley, Isabelle, Ava, and Mason; her great-granddaughter Blair; her sisters: Marie Cuneo of Sharon, and Carol and her husband Bob Simonin of Atascadero, CA; and many nieces nephews and extended family members.
