Catherine (Moreth) Firicano

CATHERINE (MORETH) FIRICANO of Plainville formerly of North Attleboro passed away peacefully on May 3 2025, at the age of 65. Devoted and loving mother of Francis W. Firicano of Plainville and Angela C. Firicano of Jamaica Plain. Sister of Marianne Smotherman and her husband Dana of Plymouth, and William J. Moreth and his partner Mary E. Fanning of Needham. Aunt of Erica and Thomas Moreth of Needham. Daughter of the late William Moreth and his wife Ann of Norwood. Cathy grew up in Norwood MA and was a 1977 graduate of Norwood High School. She went on to graduate from UMASS Amherst with a degree in fine arts.
Cathy was truly a special soul–kind, gentle, and endlessly selfless. Her life was a beautiful blend of creativity, love, and quiet strength. As a mother, she was unparalleled–loving, supportive, and always present. Her children will forever carry her warmth and wisdom in their hearts, grateful every day for the immeasurable gift of her love. She will be missed by her longtime friends of over fifty years, the ‘Norwood girls’, who were like sisters to her. Together they enjoyed many years of get-togethers and trips celebrating life's milestones. Her passion for painting and creating art will always be a reminder of her talent and generosity. Whether through painting, drawing, or crafting, she brought light and color into the lives around her, the pieces she gave to friends and family will be forever cherished.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2025, from 2-5pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St in Norwood MA. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2025, at 4:45pm at the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will be private.
