Celia M. (Mcdonnell) Mccafferty

Marcella (McDonnell) McCafferty of Norwood, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in County Mayo, Ireland, Marcella carried her Irish heritage with deep pride and joy throughout her life. She was the beloved wife of Thomas (Vincent) McCafferty Sr., born in County Donegal, with whom she shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage. The two were members of the Norwood Irish Music Club, where they celebrated the Irish traditions and ancestry they held dear.
Marcella was the cherished mother of Doreen P. Smith and her husband David of Colorado, and Thomas V. McCafferty Jr. and his wife Joyce of South Yarmouth. She was the adored Momo of Paige, Brynn, Kiera, and Alana. She was a dear sister to Margaret Blondin of Virginia and the late Richard, Kathleen, Michael, Myles, Sean, William, and Maureen. Marcella was the daughter of John and Katherine McDonnell, and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Known for her infectious laugh, glass of Pinot Grigio, and love for dancing and singing Irish songs, Marcella will be deeply missed by all those who loved her and were lucky to know her.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4–7 PM at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 9 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcella’s memory may be made to Alliance Health at Maples, 90 Taunton Street, Wrentham, MA 02093.
