Charlene had a real sense of adventure. She was a Girl Scout leader for 35 years taking her girls on all sorts of excursions. One of her all time favorites was the November trip to New York City to see the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show. When all her children became school age she took on the role of a school bus driver for Sansone Motors for over fifteen years, we all know what an adventure that had to be. She did quite a bit of traveling from seeing Greece and Italy with Joe where they attended a mass overseen by the Pope to panning for gold in Alaska. She was the proud Queen of her branch of the Red Hat Society. Charlene instilled in all her children a love for the theater. She especially loved Broadway plays. Vacations with her friends kept her busy. She loved going to Marco Island and taking cruises with the ladies. Charlene was a switchboard operator at Norwood Hospital for over twenty years. She loved interacting with all the volunteers there because volunteer work was very important to her, another quality she instilled in her children. She participated in the Relay for Life at Norwood High School making it a family event to be part of Donna's Diamonds. She is survived by her nine grandchildren and great grandchild whom she loved and adored. Through the years they have made many fond memories together which they will cherish for years to come. It's been thirty four years since she and Joe were together, it gives us some comfort knowing they are together again and she has found peace.
