Cynthia A. McCarthy

Cynthia A. (Genereux) McCarthy, age 82, of Norwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her devoted family at her residence. She was the caring and dear wife to Brian McCarthy of Norwood.

Born in Brockton, MA, Cynthia was the daughter of the late Robert Genereux and Muriel (Carlezon) Richardson and her late stepfather Joseph Richardson. She was raised and grew up in Randolph.

A hardworking woman, Cynthia worked for many years in the field of medical billing. She spent time employed with Aetna Insurance and various doctors’ offices in the area.

In her spare time, Cynthia had a wide array of hobbies and interests. In her younger years, she rode and trained horses. Her love of horses enabled her to become a counselor at a horse-riding camp. Cynthia also enjoyed reading and tending to her floral garden. Above all, Cynthia loved family, especially when her husband Brian was turning a “problem”into a mountain, she would make a short comment which turned his mountain into a mole hill.

In addition to her husband, Cynthia is survived by her two cherished daughters: Pamela McCarthy of Mashpee and Judith Toomey and her husband Brian of East Bridgewater; her two grandchildren: Amelia and Shane Toomey; her sisters: Gail Grahn of Pembroke and Linda Jayne Richardson of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother: Everett Genereux of Hubbardston, Michigan; and also, many friends and extended family members.

In addition to her mother, father, and stepfather, Cynthia is preceded in passing by her siblings: Eugene and Wesley Genereux.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on WEDNESDAY, January 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, MA.

Cynthia’s funeral will be held on THURSDAY, January 8, 2026, at 9:30 am with a Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 am in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home.

Cynthia will be laid to rest in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
