Daniel J. Cunningham, Jr. of Walpole, passed away Friday morning, June 21st, 2024, at the Accent Care Hospice Center in Milton. He was 88.
The son of the late Daniel J. and Cynthia (Wood) Cunningham, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Christine Rita (Morrison) Cunningham in 2006 and was the brother of the late Joan Sheehan and Carol O’Brien.
Mr. Cunningham is survived by his sister Roberta Sullivan of Dorchester as well as his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
Born, raised and educated in Boston where he graduated from Boston Trade and Northeastern University. A draftsman by trade, Mr. Cunningham had worked at the Boston shipyard and later with various construction firms during Boston’s “Big Dig” project.
An Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, he loved gardening and planting and had been a beekeeper, he was also a Boston Red Sox fan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service with Military Honors at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street, Dorchester on Monday, July 1st at 10AM.
