KRUSZ, DANIEL of Dedham and Norwood passed away on November 27, 2025 at the age of 56. Devoted father of Sophie Anne Krusz of Norwood. Son of the late Robert G. Sr. and Doris (Troy) Krusz. Brother of David E. Krusz and his wife Faith of Dedham, Eileen “Dolly” Krusz and her longtime companion Mark Lorenzetti of W. Roxbury, and the late Robert G. Krusz Jr., Francis P. Krusz and his wife, Linda of Dedham, and John Krusz and his wife Rosemarie “Mimi” of Miami, FL. Former husband of Patricia A. (McCluskey) Krusz of Norwood. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Daniel was a proud graduate of Catholic Memorial High School and went on to earn his degree from Norwich University while playing hockey, a sport that shaped every part of his life. Hockey was more than something he played or coached; it was his community, his comfort, and his second family. He carried that passion into years of coaching with Dedham Babe Ruth, Stonehill hockey, Catholic Memorial hockey, and finally the Norwood Nuggets youth hockey program. The rink was where he felt most himself, surrounded by the energy, camaraderie, and friendships that meant the world to him. The relationships he built through hockey lasted a lifetime, and the impact he had on others extended well beyond the boards.
Above all else, Daniel loved the people in his life wholeheartedly. He was a devoted and deeply loving father, and Sophie was the center of his world. Everything he did, every sacrifice, every quiet effort was done with her in mind. He put his family above all else, never hesitating to show up, help, or step in whenever someone needed him. Dan was selfless in a way that felt effortless; he gave without expecting anything back. His humor, warmth, and steady presence made him the glue that held people close. With Dan around, no one ever felt alone, he made sure of it.
