Denis M. Ummey Sr.

Denis M. Drummey Sr., lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away on August 9, 2022. He was 67 years old.

Born and raised in Norwood, Denis was a graduate of Xaverian High School, although remained a fan of Norwood sports, as well as the Boston sports teams, as long as they were doing well. A lifelong parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena, Denis was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served the town of Norwood as a selectman for 3 years. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and was very patriotic. A music lover who would be quick to list The Who as his favorite band, Denis made sure his children got their fill of classic rock on car rides. Denis was a longtime Chair of the Norwood Christmas Creshe Committee and former CYO hockey coach at St. Catherine of Siena. He will be greatly missed by all who know and love him.

Denis was the loving father of Denis M. Drummey Jr. of Eagle River, Alaska and his fiancee Ariana, as well as Kristen Drummey of Seattle, Washington. He was the former husband and dear friend of Sandra (DeLeo). Dear brother of James Drummey of Norwood, Brian Drummey of Heath, Robert Drummey of Foxboro, David Drummey of CT, William Drummey of Norwood, Jeremiah Drummey of Norwood and Mark Drummey of Norwood. Loving son of the late James and Gertrude (Turner). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Denis' funeral will be from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Tuesday August 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held 4-8 p.m. on Monday August 15. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Denis will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
