Doreen Rose Mancini passed away on Nov 15, 2025 in her home of over 35 years in Norwood, Massachusetts. She was 67.
Doreen born in 1958, spent her childhood growing up on Faneuil Street in Brighton and in Newton, MA. Her parents, the late Edward & Carol Considine, above all else, taught Doreen the importance of family. She was the second oldest of 6 and part of an extremely close family that grew together, learned together, loved together, played together, laughed together, and took care of each other. Those years were years of friends, cousins, and family. The bond she built with her siblings was eternal, and by far one of her biggest accomplishments in her life.
She went to St. Columbkille Catholic Highschool. It was during that time she met her high school sweetheart and future husband Bruno Mancini. It was chance that they met as they went to different Schools. Doreen was waiting at a bus stop. One of her good friends drove by in a car with her boyfriend and his neighborhood best friend Bruno Mancini. Bruno stopped, picked her up in his dad’s blue 1960’s Chevy Impala, and the rest was history. They had their first date at Anthony’s Pier 4 in Boston, where Doreen introduced Bruno to his first formal seafood meal.
Doreen attended Cape Cod Community College where she earned her Associate Degree. She focused on becoming a stenographer and was a phenomenal typer. She lived by the beach and made deep, lifelong friendships.
Doreen and Bruno were married at St. Columbkille’s Church in 1980. She wanted nothing more than to start her own family. She had a job as a secretary and ran daycares out of her home. For her, nurturing came naturally. She loved children. It would fill up her heart to take care of children and make them smile. In 1982, she was blessed with her first son, Michael. Shortly after they moved to their first home together in West Roxbury. Two years later, Doreen was blessed with her second son Danny. Doreen was a full-time mom and loved every minute.
In 1988 she moved with her family to her forever home in Norwood, MA. She always wanted a daughter. In 1992 she was blessed with her third child, her daughter Gina. Her family was complete, and she was all in. She was part of everything in her kids’ lives including school, sports, field trips, homework, social life, everything. Her children adored, trusted, and loved her.
Her love for children continued. Later she began her career as a teacher’s aid for the Norwood School System, working for the Little Mustang Preschool Academy. She made tremendous friendships there. This was her passion, and a big part of her life. She retired after working there for over 20 years.
In 2019, she finally became a Grammy when her grandson Logan was born. Two years later, her granddaughter Reese was born. She loved reading them books, doing crafts, playing games, and making them laugh. Her grandchildren brought a new level of joy for her.
Doreen loved Ice cream, soft rock, and was a talented piano player. She was an excellent baker with her signature desserts being cream puffs and cream cheese brownies. She loved going to the beach, her favorite being Ogunquit, ME…even if it was in the fall or winter.
Her inherent warmth, her humor, her understanding, kindness, forgiving nature, and beauty made it easy for people to gravitate to her. She built numerous life long relationships with people she went to school with, lived near, and worked with.
She leaves a massive family and support system as a beloved Wife, Partner, and Best Friend to her husband Bruno Mancini. They celebrated their last wedding anniversary of 45 years with over 50 years of being together.
Dedicated and loving Mother to Michael & Shannon Mancini, Daniel Mancini, and Gina & Brian Peterson.
Adored Grandmother to Logan Mancini & Reese Mancini. They were the two later, brightest lights of her life.
Sister and Best Friend to Karen & Tony Susi, Eddie & Susan Considine, Brenda & Mark Miskin, Andrea Kelly, and Dave & Christine Considine.
Loving Sister In-Law to 12 additional brothers and sisters on the Mancini side.
She was a sweet, kind Aunt to over 40 nieces & nephews, and a Great Aunt to over 30 great nieces and nephews. She is survived by many family members and life-long friends.
Doreen cared most about family and friends, and her family and friends cared about her. She wanted nothing more in her entire life than to be a wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She accomplished all those things to the fullest. She will be missed and loved forever.

Doreen will be laid to rest privately.
In honoring her legacy, my mother had one simple request: in lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. It is through their groundbreaking research and compassionate care that we were blessed with nearly seven additional years together—years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Supporting their mission ensures that other families may also benefit from the hope and time that research can provide.
This year, her brother Eddie will be running the Boston Marathon in her honor, carrying her spirit with every mile. He is dedicating his race to support Dana-Farber, and all contributions made to his fundraising page will go directly toward the cause she cared about most.
