Dorothea M. (Rull) Hines

HINES, DOROTHEA M (Rull) of Norwood formerly of S. Boston passed away on June 2, 2016 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late John J. Hines. Devoted mother of Patricia A. Hines of Norwood and John "Jay" J. Hines Jr. and his wife Lynette of CA. Cherished grandmother of Chris Hines of CA. Sister of Helen Evans of Quincy, Joseph F. Rull of Foxboro, Frances M. Preston of Medford and the late Mary A. Tinnell, Daniel J. Rull, John E. Rull, Cecelia Heiser and Edward T. Rull. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late John E. and Abigail G. (Carney) Rull. Dorothea was a longtime member of the Castle Island Assoc. (CIA) and was a expert knitter who enjoyed knitting items for her family and friends. She was a volunteer at St. Francis House and was given "The Friend of St. Francis Award" for a decade of commitment to the charity. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 9am followed by a funeral mass at 10am in St. Timothy's Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 6, 2016 from 4-8pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to St. Francis House 39 Boylston St, Boston MA 02116.
