Douglas S. Fisher

May 5, 1947 — January 10, 2024

DOUGLAS S. FISHER, age 76, of East Providence, formerly of Sharon and Walpole, passed away on January 10, 2024, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. Beloved son of Irene "Renee" (Lowe) Fisher of Saco, ME, formerly of Walpole and RI, and the late William F. Fisher. Devoted father of Lauren B. Fisher and her husband, Jason Brownstein, of Beverly. Brother of Jill Nickerson of Westminster, SC, and Bruce Fisher and his wife, Mary, of Biddeford, ME. Loving grandpa of Hayden Brownstein (age 8) and Emma Brownstein (age 5). Former husband of 23 years to Cheryl (Chaitman) Fisher of Beverly, formerly of Sharon. He also leaves behind many loving cousins who filled long-lasting memories of fun-filled childhood summers. A 1965 graduate of Walpole High School, he went on to graduate from Northeastern University and spent the first part of his career as a Certified Public Accountant. He later brought his accounting background to several financial roles in the grocery industry. Doug - known as "Dougie" to many - will long be remembered for his generous heart, big dreams, passion for the Red Sox, fondness of the ocean, and love for classic rock. Over the last 8 years, he cherished FaceTime calls and visits with his grandchildren, playing UNO, talking about sports, and collecting an endless portfolio of their artwork. He will be dearly missed. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 12:30pm followed by a burial at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA. Following the burial, there will be an informal gathering at a local establishment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to an organization long dear to his heart (surely inspired by their partnership with the Red Sox), the Jimmy Fund C/O Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 www.jimmyfund.org
