Eileen M. Canniff, age 75, of Canton, former longtime resident of Norwood, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at home.
Born in Norwood, she was one of four children and the only daughter of the late Nelson and Mary (Flaherty) Canniff. Eileen attended Saint Catherine of Siena School and graduated from Saint Clare High School in Roslindale. She then attended the Henry O. Peabody School in Norwood and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University.
Eileen worked for over 36 years for GTE, later General Dynamics, in Needham and Taunton. Starting as a secretary, she received multiple promotions over the years, and ultimately became a Contract Administrator, managing several significant Army communications programs.
Eileen is survived by her nieces: Jennifer Canniff of Morrison, CO, Natalie Canniff of Denver, CO, Bridget Canniff and her husband Daniel Fellini of Portland, OR, and Kathryn (Canniff) Welty and her husband Christopher of Orinda, CA; her nephew: Gregory Canniff and his wife Cinnamon of Castle Rock, CO; her grand-niece and grand-nephew Amelia and Nathaniel Welty; her sisters-in-law Nieves “Boots” Canniff of Morrison, CO, and Mary Canniff and her husband Joseph Mulkern of Buzzards Bay, MA; family friends Steve and Sandra Giampa and their daughters Sarah and Selena; and extended family including her Flaherty and Hart cousins.
Eileen was the beloved sister of the late Nelson “Skip” Canniff, Jr., John Canniff, and David Canniff, who all predeceased her.
Eileen’s funeral with visitation will be held on SATURDAY, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 am with a funeral service to commence at 11:00 am in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood.
Eileen will be laid to rest with her family in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
