Norwood

Eleanor M. “Ellie’ (McDonald) Marrama, age 92, a longtime resident of Norwood, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, September 13, 2025, surrounded by the love, comfort and care of her devoted family. She was the caring and loving wife of the late Sylvester Marrama, who passed on May 17, 1997.

Born in Cambridge, MA, Eleanor was one of two children and the only daughter born to the late James L. and Eleanor G. (Giblin) McDonald. She grew up in Cambridge and attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. Eleanor furthered her education by graduating from Burdett College in Boston.

In her younger years, Eleanor had the ever so important role of being a Homemaker to her dedicated family. Raising her family in Hyde Park, she took great pride in providing a safe and comforting home for her family and all who entered her doors. As her children grew older, Eleanor began working as an office administrator at Geraghty Associates Realty in Hyde Park. Gaining experience of working in the field of real estate, through hard work and dedication, Eleanor pursued and achieved licensure as a real estate agent in the Commonwealth of MA.

Outside of work and in her spare time, Eleanor had a wide array of hobbies and interests. She liked to knit in her younger years and after retirement, she and her husband spent time travelling and time at their condo in Naples, Florida. Eleanor made many fond memories in Naples, particularly on the golf course. She, along with her husband, shared many rounds of golf together and she was also a member of a women’s golf league. Above all, Eleanor treasured the time spent and memories made with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her proud and cherished children: Stephen Marrama and his partner Maryanne Harris of Mashpee and her daughter Patricia LaSalvia and her husband Stephen of Norwood; her doting grandchildren: Brian LaSalvia, Robert LaSalvia, Daniel LaSalvia, Stephanie Warner, Christopher Marrama, and Sean Marrama; her adoring great-grandchildren: Brecken Warner, Brook Warner, and Mason Marrama.

In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanor is preceded in passing by her son: the late James Marrama and her brother: the late James McDonald.
