Ellen Gail (Petrovich) Miller

Ellen Gail (Petrovich) Miller passed away at her home in Norwood, MA, on February 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 78 years old.


Ellen was born in Moline, IL, to Thomas and Olga (Horbach) Petrovich. She graduated from Moline High School, Blackhawk Community College, the University of Colorado, and Butler University (MBA). For many years she was the Business Manager at Orchard School, a private pre-K to 8th grade school in Indianapolis, where she lived for 46 years.


Ellen enjoyed traveling throughout the world, meeting new people and sampling different cultures. Later in life, she was a dedicated pickle-ball player. No matter where she was or what she did, she made friends easily and will be missed by many.


In 2021, Ellen and her husband Richard moved to Norwood to be close to their beloved grandchildren. Ellen was a constant presence at their sporting events, encouraging them from the sidelines.


Ellen is dear and devoted wife of 55 years of Richard Miller of Norwood, MA. Loving mother of Amy Morgan and her husband Cecil of Norwood, MA. Cherished "Nana" of Isabella, Emily and Bryce. Dear sister of Susan Jones and her husband Robert of Germany, Beth Wilkerson of Florida, Wendy Barkhurst and her husband Eric of Florida, and Thomas Petrovich and his wife Kimberly of Oregon. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews and friends.


Ellen's funeral services will be private. If you wish to do something in her memory, her family respectfully asks that you donate to your favorite charity, support youth sports in your town, or play pickle-ball.
