Ernest Peter

PETER, ERNEST of Norwood passed away on January 23, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Sally M. (Assim) Peter. Devoted father of David M. Peter and his wife Joy of Foxboro and Jonathan M. Peter of NH. Brother of Eva Chojnowski of Norwood and the late Lorice, Victor and Phillip. Cherished grandfather of Allison and Thomas Peter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Louis and Alice (Ayoub) Peter. Ernest was a graduate of Brighton High School and then went on to graduate from Northeastern University. He was a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers and many construction organizations. Ernest grew up in Boston's South End and married Sally in 1954 before moving to Norwood. He spent five decades in the construction industry on many of the high rise buildings in Boston and was Chief Estimator for the construction of the Prudential and Hancock towers. He enjoyed spending his time with his wife, children and grandchildren as well as many home construction projects. He and Sally enjoyed over 67 years of marriage.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 10:30am at St. Timothy Parish 650 Nichols Street Norwood, MA 02062. (Masks are currently required while inside the church). Arrangements by the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, Norwood.
