Evelyn J. (Bonito) Narbut

NARBUT, EVELYN J. (Bonito) of Norwood passed away suddenly on October 4, 2022 at the age of 79. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul E. Narbut and had been looking forward to celebrating their upcoming 57th wedding anniversary. She and Paul were so perfect for each other that two separate groups of friends independently tried to set them up on blind dates. They eventually met when they were both asked to be part of a mutual friend's wedding party, and the rest is history. She and Paul spent their entire married life living in Norwood and were proud to raise their family there. Evelyn was a devoted mother to Paula, Jon, and Lynne Narbut, all of Norwood. She was a loving sister to Catherine Bonito of Norwood, Janet Baxter of Bridgewater, Debbie Batson of Epsom, NH, Thomas Trask of Walpole and the late Anthony Bonito of Oak Bluffs. She was the daughter of the late Anthony J. Bonito, who died a tragic death when she was a baby. Anthony had been a Dedham high school star quarterback. Her late mother, Alice E. (Parker) Trask, was a young widow who later met and married the late Thomas Trask while Evelyn was a young girl. Her parents went on to expand their family and raised her and her siblings as their own. Evelyn's early childhood was spent in Dedham and Walpole before eventually settling in Norwood, which became her permanent home. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood for many years. She loved her home and her family and cherished caring for them all as wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, aunt and great aunt. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 8:30am-10:30am at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, MA. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home immediately following with the funeral mass at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA.
