Evelyn Bernice Gugliotta

GUGLIOTTA, Evelyn Bernice 94, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018. She was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late William and Martha Darley Alexander. She was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church and a Past Worthy Matron of Samoset Chapter #109 Order of the Eastern Star in Norwood, MA. Evelyn met Tony Gugliotta of Norwood, Massachusetts in 1968 and they married in 1969. They remained in Norwood until their retirement in 1982 and moved to an adult community in Pinellas Park, Florida. They spent many happy years together. Evelyn was very active and involved in that community. They also traveled to Italy and Hawaii and took several cruises. They enjoyed their "Golden Years" until her husband of 32 years passed away in 2001. Evelyn then moved back to Virginia where she grew up to live near her siblings. For many years Evelyn would spend a week every year visiting her granddaughter and her family on their farm in Mississippi, making many lasting memories. She is survived by two step daughters, JoAnne Gugliotta and Dianne Sandahl; a step son, Anthony F. Gugliotta; a brother, James Alexander and wife Marianne; six step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews and extended family. Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Kilpatrick; a brother, Richard Alexander and step granddaughter. A memorial service was held in Virginia on June 11, 2018 at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by Rev. Megan J. Saucier. A graveside service will be held on June 27, 2018 at 11 am in Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA. Arrangements by the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home Norwood, MA. www.kraw-kornackfuneralhome.com .
