Floreen "Lovee" J. (Harb) Thomas

June 11, 1930 — May 6, 2022

THOMAS, FLOREEN J. "Lovee" (Harb), of Norwood, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on May 6, 2022, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late George "Tiger" Thomas. Devoted mother of David M. Thomas of Norwood, Massachusetts and Mark J. Thomas and his wife Judy of Palm Harbor, Florida. Cherished grandmother of Gregory Thomas and his wife Allie of Walpole, Massachusetts, Marc Thomas of Quincy, Massachusetts, Brett Thomas of Hudson, New Hampshire, and the late Brendan Thomas of Norwich, Connecticut. Adored great grandmother of Victoria Thomas of Quincy, Massachusetts. Loving sister of Marguerite J. (Harb) Hassan of Shelburne, Vermont, and her late brothers, Bernard M. Harb, Deacon Alfred G. Harb, and David J. Harb. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Lovee was born on June 11, 1930, in Brockton, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Josephine M. (Aseph) Harb. She was raised in a loving home and learned at an early age that family, friends, faith, and food were the most important ingredients for a good life. Lovee was a vibrant and vital part of family, church, and community. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Norwood for the past 71 years. She took an active role in her church contributing her time and talents on various committees. She served on the board of the parish council, and a member of the ladies society helping to instill a sisterhood amongst her fellow parishioners serving together in prayer and in charitable works. Lovee also worked tirelessly for the town of Norwood volunteering on several committees. Everyone knew Lovee. With her radiant smile and amicable personality, she graced the town with dignity and style. Whether you saw her traveling the corridors of Norwood town hall, or talking with friends wherever she went, she was well-respected and admired by all. For more than 60 years Lovee owned and operated Chez Lovee Beauty Salon out of her home. She had a loyal clientele. Many stayed with her from the first day she opened the doors to the day she retired in her late 70s. Every customer became her friend for life. Her salon was more than color, cut, and style. It was a place of community and friendship. Lovee was as beautiful as her name, the consummate lady - stunningly and meticulously dressed. She was an amazing cook and baker specializing in her native Middle Eastern cuisine. She embraced her Arabic culture. When not in the kitchen, she could be found on the dance floor performing solo to traditional Middle Eastern music or doing the jitterbug with the love of her life, Tiger. Lovee's children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter were the joys of her life. She treasured every moment she shared with them. Her family and her many dear and loving friends gave purpose to her life - as she did for them. Lovee was a beautiful and unstoppable force. Her presence will be dearly missed. Visiting hours will be held at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, MA on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service 10:00am at St. George Orthodox Church, 6 Atwood Avenue, Norwood, MA.
