SERRATORE, FRANCESCO

Of Norwood, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 91 surrounded by his loved ones.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Serratore) Serratore. Devoted father of Giacomo Serratore and his wife Jayne of Norwood, and Anthony Serratore and his wife Jeannine of Norwood. Loving brother of Maria Mazzotta of Norwood. Son of the late Giacomo and Concetta (Mazzotta) Serratore. Cherished Nonnu of Lauryn, Jillian, Mason, Sophia, Francesco, and Giacomo, and beloved Nanu of Gabriella, Rylie, Henry, Wyatt, and Owen.

Francesco was a proud member of the Norwood Italian Social Club and the Norwood Elks.

A hardworking and talented mason throughout his life, Francesco took immense pride in the many structures and projects he built over the years, often sharing stories of his craftsmanship with family and friends. He was a man of deep devotion, creativity, and warmth whose presence brought people together.

Outside of work, Francesco loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, proudly retelling the story of his prized 10-point buck, which held a special place in his dining room for many years. He also took exceptional care of his garden, growing countless varieties of tomatoes, lettuce year-round, spices, and the family favorite — his cucumbers.

After the passing of his beloved wife Barbara, Francesco became the culinary heart of the family. Sundays were dedicated to preparing unforgettable pasta dinners using his treasured homemade jars of sauce for his ever-growing family. He was the life of every gathering, never missing an opportunity to celebrate with those he loved, always ready to share stories, laughter, and a glass of his homemade wine.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, MA. A funeral procession will begin from the funeral home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in Norwood with an Open House to follow at the Chateau in Norwood.
