Gary T. Crowell

CROWELL, Gary T. of Mansfield, MA formerly of Norwood passed away on July 19, 2022, at the age of 76 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA. Beloved husband of Rita A. Crowell. Devoted father of Wendy Hardy and her husband Jason of NC, Holly Leun and her husband Michael of GA, Kevin Crowell and his wife Christine of Mansfield, MA and Maura Crowell and her wife Shelby Nelson of MN. Brother of Alvin F. Crowell Jr. of Cotuit, Marcia J. Sulfaro of VA, Joyce F. Mazzola of Plymouth, and the late Susan A. Crowell. Son of the late Alvin F. and Florence C. (Foley) Crowell. Cherished grandfather of Madison Hardy of NC, Benjamin and Natalie Crowell of Mansfield, MA and Blake Nelson of MN. Gary was a US Combat Veteran of the Americal 23rd Infantry Division, 198th Infantry brigade in Vietnam. He achieved a Combat Infantryman Badge, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star. Gary was an IT Systems Consultant with a specialty in QA Engineering having worked for BMC Software and AQM Solutions. A lifetime golfer and active member at Sharon Country Club. A big fan of all Boston sports and a major fan of University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey. He enjoyed spending time reading and spending quality time with both his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22 from 4-8pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA 02062. A graveside service will take place on Monday, July 25, 2022, 10:45am at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA with US Army Military Honors.
