FRIGULIETTI, GEORGE Vincent of Norwood passed away on October 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was 82. Beloved husband of Edyth (Edie) A. (Cossaboom) Frigulietti. Devoted father of Andres A. Frigulietti of Boston and Amy M. Frigulietti and her partner Guy Glodis of Yarmouth Port. The youngest child of the late Daniel and Antoinette Frigulietti (Giorgio). Brother of Daniel G. Frigulietti and his wife Joanne of Peterborough, NH. Brother-in-law of Barbara Morrill and her husband Paul of Hyde Park. Affectionate uncle to many nieces and nephews.
George grew up in Roslindale, in a close knit Italian family. He graduated from Boston Technical High School, class of 1959. He later earned a degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and attended the Franklin Institute of Technology and Boston University earning various certificates in technical illustration, graphic design, and photography. In 1964 he enlisted in the United States Navy serving 2 years aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Wasp (CV-18), from 1965-1967. George took great pride in his military service as a Navy Vietnam Veteran, and was especially proud of the role the USS Wasp played in recovering astronauts from the Project Gemini 4 space mission. He was tasked with designing the commemorative Navy patch for this mission and was awarded Sailor of the Month in December of 1966. While serving in the Navy, George met the love of his life, Edie Cossaboom. George and Edie were married on September 7, 1968 and enjoyed 56 years of happiness together.
George had a career as a technical illustrator opening his own small graphic design business until his retirement. After retirement, George stayed busy working many small and part time jobs including as a school bus driver, carpenter, and teacher of self hypnosis. He was always happy to lend a helping hand to family and friends with renovations and home projects. Fridge, as he was fondly referred to, was an avid gardener, artist, and carpenter. He especially loved playing ball with his beloved grandpup, Louis.
George and Edie moved to Norwood and later adopted what George described as his “miracles” - his son and daughter Andy and Amy. George was a devoted and loving father and demonstrated that same love to his extended family and friends. Family was omnipotent to George; he truly enjoyed family gatherings, parties, celebrations, holidays and especially the annual Labor Day Weekend Family Bash that has been an ongoing tradition since 1974.
Edie, Andy and Amy would like to extend appreciation and gratitude to the family, friends, and caregivers who provided an overwhelming outpouring of love and support in the last days of George’s life.
