Gerard "Gerry" X. Amirault

Gerard Xavier Amirault, of Walpole, passed away on April 1, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with ALS. He was 63 years old.

Born in Norwood, Gerry was a graduate of Norwood Senior High School and worked for many years as a licensed electrician. Gerry was a hard worker and a great friend. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, "Popsie" was happiest being surrounded by his family. He was an avid fisherman who fished wherever he could, whenever he could, frequenting New Pond as it was the closest spot to his home. A gentle man, who was easy with a laugh, Gerry enjoyed wine and was his family's personal wine connoisseur. He handled his diagnosis and disease with dignity, strength and grace, with the aid of his family and his service dog, Foster.

Gerry was the dear and devoted husband of Mary "Mimi" (Messina). Loving father of Megan Mellen and her husband Brian of Norfolk, Mark Amirault and his wife Anna of NC, Maura Morrissey and her husband Michael of Norfolk, and Michael Amirault of Walpole. Cherished grandfather, "Popsie," of Bridget, Claire, Maeve, Ayla, Luke and Jenna. Dear brother of Lois Carli of NC, Nancy Iessi of Norwood and David Amirault of Lakeville. Dear son-in-law of Joe and Gerry Messina of Westwood.

Gerry's Funeral will be from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. NORWOOD, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Sienna at 11 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held Monday 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Interment will conclude services at New Westwood Cemetery.
