Gerardo Frangiosa, age 89, a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at his home in Norwood.

Born in Casalduni, Italy, Gerardo was one of five children born to the late Lorenzo and Agata (Defilippo) Frangiosa. He spent his formative years in Italy, before immigrating with his family to the United States, settling in Norwood. Gerry was a graduate of Norwood High School.

A hardworking man, with a meticulous eye for detail, Gerry was a proud and respected business owner, working in the field of masonry. He was the owner and operator of Michaelangelo Tile in Norwood, where he provided the utmost service and care to his clients, always ensuring a job well done.

In his spare time, Gerry enjoyed making and tasting his own wine for him and family to enjoy. He liked to go hunting, where he would spend time relishing the tranquility that nature provides. Above all, he cherished the time spent and memories made with his dear friends and family. He was also the devoted caretaker of Lorenzo’s second wife, Filomena Frangiosa, until her passing.

Gerardo’s death occurs after his brother Angelo Frangiosa of Marlborough MA, and his sister, Catarina Frangiosa Boccabella of Brisbane Australia, and his special long time friend Gina Smith of Norwood, MA.

Gerardo is survived by his cherished siblings: Carmela Ross of Las Vegas, NV and Victorio Frangiosa of Boise, ID; his nephew: Mark Ross of Las Vegas, NV; and his devoted nieces: Andrea Frangiosa, Michelle Frangiosa, Hilary Frangiosa, Maddalena Boccabella, Aggie Curcuruto, and Lina Boccabella. He is also survived by his brother Angelo’s wife, Annie Frangiosa and by dear family friends Peter and Rita Mazzotta of Norwood, MA.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10:30a.m. in Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter Street, Norwood. 

Following services at the cemetery, all are invited to join the family for Gerry's Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m., at The Chateau Restaurant, 404 Boston-Providence Turnpike (Route 1 Northbound Side), Norwood.
