Guy S. Costa, age 86, a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of his devoted family, on the evening of Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the devoted and caring husband for 65 wonderful years to Joan (Simonetta) Costa of Norwood.

Born in Boston, Guy was the only son and one of two children of the late Gaetano and Filippa (Mazzeo) Costa. He was raised in the Readville section of Boston and attended Boston Latin School, graduating with the Class of 1957. Guy continued his education by earning his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and later his master’s degree from Northeastern University.

A hardworking and dedicated professional with a strong sense of integrity, Guy devoted the majority of his career to GTE. He began as an electrical engineer and, through years of commitment and leadership, rose through the ranks to become a program manager and director at the company.

Outside of work, Guy found great joy in golfing, gardening, and faithfully cheering on his beloved Boston sports teams. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family and the many memories they shared together.

In addition to his beloved wife, Guy is survived by his proud and cherished sons, Keith Costa and his wife, Prattana, of Ashburn, Virginia, and Kent Costa of Cary, North Carolina; his two doting granddaughters, Gina and Ava Costa; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Guy was predeceased by his sister, Mary Brown.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole. Please go directly to church; there will be no procession from the funeral home.

Guy will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 Lagrange Street, West Roxbury.
