THORNTON, HELEN “Eileen” MARY (Gavaghan) of Norwood passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late John Thornton. Devoted mother of John E. Thornton and his wife Kate of Westwood and Judith A. Lydon and her husband Paul of Norwood. Sister of Nancy Archer of Dedham, Lena O'Carroll of Ireland, Patrick Gavaghan of England and the late Maureen Higgins. Cherished grandmother of Kerry, Joseph, Katie and Erin. Daughter of the Late James and Barbara (Flaherty) Gavaghan. Visting hours will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4-7pm at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA 02062. Funeral from the Funeral Home Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 9am followed by a funeral mass at 10am at St. Catherine of Seina Church, Norwood, MA. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA.
