KEYES, Hope, age 103, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Georgia (Wilber) Keyes. Born in Walpole on June 11, 1918, Miss Keyes had lived in Walpole for most of her life prior to moving to Medfield in 2018. Hope was a Foxboro High School graduate of the class of 1938, and went on to get her nursing certificate in 1944 from Tewksbury State Hospital. A Licensed Practical Nurse, Hope had worked for 38 years at the Massachusetts Osteopathic Hospital in Boston. Hope, in her younger years, enjoyed reading, traveling to Vermont, photography, and needlework. She had a hobby of collecting dolls and dollhouses. Until recently she truly enjoyed participating in Community Bible Study. This is where she met her friend Maureen Stott who continued to support Hope through many transitions. Hope also loved attending the Low Vision Support group in Sharon. She enjoyed swimming regularly at the Walpole town pool into her nineties! Nothing held her down. She would often take The Ride to area malls to shop at Macy's, "her favorite clothing store", stopping for lunch before returning home. Hope is survived by her twin nieces Cindy Mutter and her husband Tim, and Mindy Steele both of Delaware as well as several cousins including Shirley (Wilber) Ficco and her husband Jim of Hudson. Hope was pre-deceased by her sister Doris Steele, her niece Lynda Begley, and nephews Hugh and Bobby Steele. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 30 at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Walpole.
