James E. Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD, JAMES E. of Norwood formerly of Walpole passed away on January 31st, peacefully in his sleep at home. Loving husband of 49 years to Susan (Hippert) Fitzgerald. Brother to Jay Fitzgerald of Texas and the late Rev. Gerry Fitzgerald. Father to Jill Fitzgerald of Franklin, Janet Gallo and her husband Mark of Foxboro, Julie Levesque and her husband Matt of Plainville. Grandfather to Jamie Levesque, Emily Gallo and Samantha Levesque. Brother-in-law of Phil Hippert and his wife Dee Tomasso, Charles Hippert and Patricia Hippert. Dear friend of Leslie and Glenn Douglas. Jim was born in Norwood, MA on May 30, 1943 to the late Barbara (Feeney) and Joseph J. Fitzgerald. He graduated from Cathedral High School and Northeastern University with a Masters degree in Business. He was employed as an industrial engineer at Polaroid until his stroke in 1990. He and Susan maintained an active life, traveling the world together. He was an avid collector of magnets, mugs and t-shirts from all of the many locations they traveled to throughout the years. He was beloved by all of his daughters' friends and was affectionately known as "Padre." He looked forward to the Sunday night "May-I" card games with his family. His granddaughters loved their time spent goofing off with "Grampa." Jim was also a member of the Norwood KofC. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Saturday Feb. 3, 2018 at 9:30am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am in St. Timothy's Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 4-7pm. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery Walpole, MA.
