James M. “Jim” Naughton, age 76, a lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away surrounded by the devoted love, comfort, and care of his family on the evening of Friday, January 9, 2026, at his home in Norwood. He was the loving husband for 54 years to Ellen M. (Dyer) Naughton.
Born in Norwood, Jim was one of six children born to the late John J. and Anna R. (Favreau) Naughton. He grew up in Norwood, attending St. Catherine of Siena School and he was a proud graduate with the first Class of 1969 from Blue Hills Regional Technical High School, also serving as Class President.
A man with a great work ethic, Jim was a proud master electrician and 56-year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 103. During his tenure with Local 103, Jim had the honor and privilege of serving as President.
Jim will be fondly remembered for his kind heart and his willingness to always be there for people in their time of hardship. Whether assistance was needed changing a tire or lending a listening ear over a cup of coffee, Jim was always willing and able to offer the gift of presence at the right time.
Outside of work and his spare time, Jim enjoyed to “go off the grid” and spend time hunting and fishing in the woods of Maine. He also liked to spend time at his house on Monument Beach in Pocasset. Above all, Jim was most happy when he was in the presence of and making memories with his dear family, especially cherishing the role of being “Big Guy” to his 4 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his two proud sons: Daniel Naughton and his wife Jen and Matthew Naughton and his wife Kelly; his four doting grandchildren: Drew Naughton, Caitlyn Naughton, Jack Naughton and Lila Naughton; his sisters: Marie Naughton, Patricia Flynn, and Ann Healy; and also numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members including PJ Hayes and the late Jack Hayes.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in passing by his brothers: John Naughton, Jr. and Robert Naughton; and his brother-in-law: Bob Healy.
In accordance with his wishes, services for Jim will be held privately at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home.
