NORWOOD- Janet L. (Shea) MacLaughlin, age 60, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2025, at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center in Milton.

Born in Norwood, Janet was the third of four daughters born to Paul Shea of Norwood and the late Joyce M. (Juskewitz )Shea. She was raised in Norwood and attended Norwood Public Schools, graduating from Norwood High School with the Class of 1982.

Following high school, Janet attended and graduated from Blue Hills Technical Institute with her associate’s degree in graphic design.

Janet spent some time working as a graphic designer. After the birth of her daughter, she transitioned her career into being a server and through her hard work she achieved the promotion of being Manager of Applebee’s in Walpole. Janet took great pride in treating her customers and co-workers with the utmost service and respect.

In her spare time Janet had a wide array of hobbies and interests. She was a coffee fanatic, with her favorite beverage being an iced white chocolate mocha latte from Starbucks. She was always sporting Cape Cod sweatshirts with her outfits. She was an avid cook, and she loved trips to Disney’s Magic Kingdom with her favorite character Piglet. Above all she cherished the time spent and memories with her daughter, Kyle, who was truly her shining light in her life. Janet was extremely proud of her accomplishment of becoming an RN and recently getting accepted into her Nurse Practitioner program.

In addition to her father, Janet is survived by her proud and treasured daughter: Kyle MacLaughlin of Westboro; her sisters: Denise Greer of Abington, Deborah Beaudoin of Dedham, and Joyce McCafferty and her husband Thomas of So. Yarmouth; her devoted companion and the father of her daughter: Claude Manigat of East Longmeadow; and also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In accordance with Janet’s wishes, services will be held privately.
