John R. Howard

HOWARD, JOHN R. retired Deputy Fire Chief, NFD passed away on October 1, 2017 at the age of 102. Beloved husband of the late Adele (Peter) Howard. Devoted father of Carolyn M. Ferris of Norwood and Jacqueline "Jackie" H. Saber and her husband Nicholas of Norwood. Brother of the late James, Regina, Mabel and Mary. Cherished grandfather of Peter, Jeff, Farah and Kouri. Great grandfather of Timothy, Jessica, Joseph, Jackie, Hayden, Nicholas and Mcallister. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was a WWII US Army Air Corps Veteran. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Thursday October 5, 2017 at 9am followed by a funeral service at 10am in St. George Orthodox Church , Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 4, 2017 from 4-8pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
