John Patrick "Jack" Connolly

August 26, 1936 — January 10, 2017

CONNOLLY, JOHN Patrick "Jack" of Norwood passed away on January 10, 2017. Beloved husband of 58yrs. to Barbara J. (Fruci) Connolly. Devoted father of Cynthia M. Rossetti and her husband Philip of Wellesley, Michael A. Connolly of Boston and Noreen A. Gunning and her husband Kevin of Virginia. Brother of the late Maryellen Flynn and Paul Connolly. Son of the late Michael J. and Nora N. (Naughton) Connolly. Also survived by 3 step grandchildren and many cousins. Jack was born in Norwood and attended St. Catherine's Elementary School growing up and Graduated from Norwood High School class of 1954. He earned a Sports Letter in Hockey, Football and Baseball. He then went on to join the Air Force serving 8 yrs. as a Radar Operator during the Korean War and Vietnam. He also played baseball in the Air Force. He was a member of the Norwood Elks, American Legion, NARFE Assoc. and the NALC Union. Jack was a retired Letter Carrier for the Norwood Post Office. He was known for his striking Blue Eyes and great Sense of Humor. Jack was an avid Boston Sports Fan who loved to golf and spent time in Florida during the winter months. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Saturday Jan. 14, 2017 at 10am followed by a funeral mass at 11am in St. Catherine of Siena Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood. Donations may be made in his name to Boston Catholic TV P.O. Box 9196 Watertown, MA. 02471.
