John Stephen Ratto

August 7, 1928 — October 12, 2021

RATTO, JOHN Stephen of Needham, formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully at his home on October 12, 2021 at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Minton) Ratto for the past 61 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter. He was a devoted father to Nancy M. (Ratto) Folan and her husband Mark of Norwood, MA, and Jo Ann Ratto Ross and her husband John of Nashua, NH. He cherished his granddaughters, Nicole Shaughnessy, Megan Moran, Kristen Folan and Elizabeth Ross. He was the great grandfather of Ava Shaughnessy. He is the brother of Charles Ratto of Sudbury, MA and the late Eugene, Louise and Marie. He was the son of the late John Baptiste Ratto and Theodora (Cuneo) Ratto. John grew up in Dorchester and lived with his family in Norwood. He treasured the many lifelong friends he had from both Dorchester and Norwood. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 9:30am-10:30am at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA 02062. A funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. To watch mass online go to www.stcatherinenorwood.org and scroll down to view mass live. The family is most grateful to Dr. Lisa Fleming, Barbara, Karen and the rest of the cardiology team at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Needham as well as Milly and Good Shepherd Community Care for their outstanding care.
