Joseph K. Carchedi, age 86, of Mansfield, a former longtime resident of Norwood, passed away on the morning of Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the loving husband of the late Sandra A. (Higgins) Carchedi, who passed away on August 11, 2016.
A first generation American and the son of Italian immigrants, Joseph was one of eight children born to the late Domenic and Mary (Cirillo) Carchedi.
For over 20 years Joseph worked as a police officer for the Town of Norwood. Prior to joining the police force, he served in the United States Army.
Joseph is survived by his proud and cherished children: Debbie Forcucci and her husband Mark of Easton, Jim Carchedi and his wife Lauren of East Bridgewater, Joey Carchedi of Wrentham and Paula Carchedi of Norton; his doting grandchildren: Kristen, Nicole, Rachael, Jaclyn and Jimmy; and his treasured great grandchildren: Aiden, Emma, Patrick, Logan, Danny, Jackson, and Chloe; his siblings: Joanne Nelson, Ralph Carchedi, Lorraine Coyne, and Maryjane Bruce; and also many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his wife and parents, Joseph is preceded in passing by his siblings: Catherine Coughlin, Barbara Clinton, and Carmella Sawyer.
A funeral home service will be held on FRIDAY, May 30, 2025, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., NORWOOD, MA. 02062. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on FRIDAY morning May 30, 2025, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park Canton, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to a charity of one's choice.
