RAICHLE, JUDITH A. of Walpole, formerly of Norwood and originally from Philadelphia, passed away on November 3, 2022 at the age of 75.
Judy was the youngest of four daughters born to the late Albert and Helen Ashnault. Growing up in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia, Judy attended Catholic schools and went on to earn her R.N. degree from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She married her life partner, Robert James Raichle, in April of 1969 and they raised three children, Laura, Rebecca and Robert K. Judy was a career nurse, working first in hospital ICUs on the night shift so she could care for her young children during the day, and then in elder care at Fairlawn Nursing Home in Leominster, MA, where she was promoted to Director of Nursing, and Victoria Haven Nursing Home in Norwood, MA, where she was Director of Nursing until her retirement. She most recently worked in the Walpole High School cafeteria, a way of continuing her lifetime of caring for and serving others.
Nothing made Judy happier than spending time with her family, cooking delicious meals, and spoiling her two grandchildren, Liam and Caileen. A devout Catholic, Judy was an active member in the churches where she lived, most recently Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in Norwood, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Judy will be dearly missed by her husband of 53 years, Robert; her children, Laura M. Hayes of Canton, Rebecca L. Monette and her husband, John, of Canton, and Robert K. Raichle of Walpole; and her grandchildren, Liam and Caileen Hayes. Judy is also survived by two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood, MA 02062. Arrangements are by the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, Norwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's name to Saint Catherine of Siena School.
