Katherine S. Michienzi, age 80, a longtime resident of Mansfield and formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Bridges by EPOCH at Pembroke. She was the devoted and loving wife of Joseph A. Michienzi of Mansfield.
Born in Boston, Katherine was one of two daughters born to the late David and Katherine Ogg. She was raised and educated in Boston.
Katherine worked as a Production Inventory Controller for Polaroid Corporation. Following her retirement, she remained closely connected with her former colleagues through her membership in the Polaroid Retirees Association.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoyed creating pottery and preparing delicious meals for family and friends to enjoy. Having inherited a green thumb from her grandmother, she took great pride in tending her garden, which featured beautiful flowers, including lilacs and hydrangeas. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs. Above all, Katherine cherished the time she spent with her family and treasured the many memories made with them, especially with her beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Katherine is survived by her loving son, Joseph D. Michienzi of Mansfield; her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan and Rebecca Michienzi of Plainville; her former daughter-in-law, Amy Michienzi of Plainville; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was predeceased by her sister, Priscilla Hansen of Maine.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, MA.
Katherine’s funeral will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 9:45 AM, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 10:00 AM.
Katherine will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
