Kathleen Mary Sjokvist died peacefully at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Home on May 28, 2023. She was born on February 22, 1947, the daughter of Nils Sjokvist (deceased) and Kathleen Mary (White) Sjokvist (deceased). Her mother died during childbirth and Kathleen was never able to know her mother. That loss followed Kathleen throughout her life. Nils married Eunice Ostrom (deceased) and Eunice was Kathleen's stepmother for the remainder of her life. She had a stepbrother, Andrew Beattie (deceased). She was very close to Andrew's son, David Calleaux of Michigan and loved his children and grandson as well.
Kathleen spent much of her time growing up with the White family in Norwood. She was very close to Nana White and Mimi White who helped to care for her after her mother's death. She also spent a great deal of time growing up with Lawrence Vincent White and Marjorie Foley White and their children, Margie Ann, Eleanor and Debi. Kathleen frequently vacationed with the White family and celebrated holidays and birthdays together. Kathy always enjoyed taking care of children and playing with the many White family children and grandchildren. She graduated from Norwood High School in 1965 and lived almost her entire life in Norwood until she moved to the Arbors Assisted Living in Stoughton and then to the Southwood at Norwell Nursing home. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and she loved Tom Brady!
A Celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Kathleen has chosen to be buried with her mother because they will now be together throughout eternity.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to a charity of your choice.
