Kathleen F. (Thornton) Koenig

Kathleen F. Koenig (Thornton) of Norwood, formerly of Brookline and West Roxbury, passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 81. She was the loving wife of 53 years to the late Robert L. Koenig, Jr., and the daughter of the late Charles P. Thornton and Catherine (Gannon) Thornton.

Kathleen grew up in Brookline and graduated from St. Mary's High School. She had a rewarding career working for several Boston area employers, including the MBTA and the American Red Cross. Kathleen enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods and loved spending sunny days at the beach with her family. Her warmth and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathleen was the loving mother of Robert C. Koenig and his wife Leslie of Louisville, KY, Douglas Koenig of Norwood, and the late Matthew Koenig. She was a devoted Nana to Graham and Max, and a cherished sister to Mary Quinn, Carolyn Williams, and Tricia Jordan, as well as the late James Thornton. She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Dorothy Thornton and Stephen Koenig and his wife Anne. Kathleen is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 9-11am at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday 11am followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery (St. James the Apostle Section) W. Roxbury, MA.
