Ken Horne

June 15, 1968 — September 12, 2025

Norwood

Kenneth Michael “Ken” Horne, 57, of Norwood, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at Tufts Medical Center.

Born in Boston on June 15, 1968, Ken was the son of Robert and Paula (Judge) Horne, was raised in Norwood, Massachusetts, and graduated from Norwood High School in 1986. One of six children, he enjoyed summers at his family’s cottage on Lake Winnepaukee, school vacations in Walt Disney World, playing baseball, in the marching band, in softball games with friends, and being the lead drummer in their band, called “BBC.”

Ken went on to become a Recruiting Manager and Sales Representative for New Boston Systems in Boston, Massachusetts. After he married and relocated to New York City, he became a Regional Recruiting and National Operations Manager for Saffire Technologies. When he returned to Massachusetts to raise his family, he lived in Walpole and then Duxbury, where he made many friends and worked as a Sales Representative and Purchasing Manager in the building material and catering fields. He was an avid and lifelong Boston sports fan who enjoyed golf, travel, trivia, and history.

However, Ken’s favorite role was being a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, Lily and Andrew (Drew), and took great pride in orchestrating a well-organized beach or camping trip, grocery run, or perfectly packed car. Ken also enjoyed coaching his children’s youth sports teams and was always an enthusiastic, and sometimes vocal, attendee at their sports and school events. But watching Lily and Drew grow up, graduate from college, and set off into the world was the pinnacle.

As a son, brother, father, uncle, partner and friend, Ken was cherished for his smile and laughter, which remained pillars of his personality, continuing during his extensive treatment at Tufts Medical Center, specifically with the CVC-6 team, he said charmed and befriended everyone who cared for him week after week.

Ken is survived by his children, Lily and Drew, his loving partner Maureen Donovan of Norwood, Massachusetts, his parents, Robert and Paula Horne of Norwood, his sister Paula and her husband Steven Avakian of Norwood Massachusetts,  his sister Nancy and her husband Neil Larrivee of Norwood, Massachusetts, his brother Mark and and his wife Nicole Horne of Quincy, Massachusetts, his sisters-in-law Julie Horne of Norwood, Massachusetts, Deena Horne-Howley of Middletown, Rhode Island. He is also survived by his godchildren, Alexandria Avakian and Grady Harrington, and the rest of his beloved nieces and nephews; Derek, Craig and Mark Larrivee, Brian, Patrick and Kevin Horne, Elizabeth Avakian, Samantha (Horne) Reed, Jessica and Kara Horne,  Charles and Vanessa Horne and William Harrington and Jacqueline Harrington . Ken was welcomed into heaven by his older brothers, Robert Horne and James Horne, and his former brother-in-law, William Harrington.
