Letitia Marilyn (Zambella) Phelan, of Norwood, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center at Newbridge on the Charles. She was 85.
Mrs. Phelan was predeceased by her beloved husband James F. Phelan in 2019.
She is survived by her loving children James “Jimbo” F. Phelan and his companion Mary DeMaio of Needham, Cynthia A. Wagner and her husband Paul of Walpole, Denise M. Phelan of Norwood and Michelle A. Sheehan and her husband John of Norwood. She was “Nonnie” to her cherished grandchildren Christopher and his wife Kate, Michaela, Paul, Jack, Matthew, Dana, Sadie and Jacob and her great granddaughter Mackenna.
She was the sister of Donna Drury of Clearwater, FL, Beverly “Chickie” Florenzo of Pocasset and the late John “Johnnie” Zambella, Jr.
Born in Boston to the late John and Esther (Mazzola) Zambella, she was raised and educated in Sharon. Mrs. Phelan had been a resident of Norwood for most of her life. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs School in Boston going on to work as a secretary at the Norwood Hospital then at the Balch Elementary School in Norwood.
A member of the Norwood Italian Club, she enjoyed painting, golfing, music and reading as well as sharing a good meal with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, June 10th from 3-6 pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood. A private burial will be held at Highland Cemetery.
