Loretta Rush

April 4, 1945 — June 28, 2025

Loretta Rush, age 80, a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, in the presence of the family at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the devoted and caring wife for 59 years to Robert Rush of Norwood.

Born in Boston, Loretta was one of two children born to the late Anthony J. and Josephine M. (Zappala) Salvucci. She was raised and grew up in Brighton.

Loretta worked for many years as an Executive Assistant for Dunkin Donuts at the corporate office in Randolph. She was well liked and respected by her co-workers.

A woman of faith, Loretta was a devoted parishioner at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Norwood.

In her spare time, Loretta enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and gardening. Above all, she treasured the time spent and memories made with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Loretta is survived by her proud and cherished sons: David and Michael Rush, both of Norwood; and her nieces, nephews, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Loretta is preceded in passing by her brother: Anthony J. Salvucci, Jr.
Loretta’s Funeral Mass will be held on WEDNESDAY, July 9, 2025, at 10:30am in St. Timothy Catholic Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church by 10:15am. Interment will be held in Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
