Lorraine M. (Survila) Gulla, age 91, of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her devoted family. She was the longtime and caring wife to the late Arthur M. Gulla.
Born on May 23, 1934, in Boston, she was the only child born to the late Anton and Dorothy (Milton) Survila. Lorraine spent her younger years living in Ashland, prior to settling in Norwood. She attended Norwood Public Schools and was a graduate of Norwood High School with the Class of 1952. After high school, Lorraine enrolled and completed courses at Gillis Business School in Norwood.
A hardworking woman, Lorraine spent many years as an administrative assistant for various companies. In her younger years, she worked at both Raytheon and the VA Hospital system. Lorraine’s last place of employment was with the Norwood Public Schools, where she was well respected and beloved by her colleagues.
In her spare time, Lorraine had a wide array of hobbies and interests. She loved to travel with her friends, visiting many countries abroad in Europe and around the world. She enjoyed spending time both in the summer and winter months at her vacation home in Tamworth, NH. Above all, Lorraine cherished the time spent and memories made with her grandchildren, seldom missing a sporting event, play, graduation, or concert.
Lorraine is survived by her proud daughters: Susan M. Hanley and her husband Terry and Dianne M. Ehrlich; she was the doting “Mimi” to her grandchildren: Jason Ehrlich and his wife Michaela, James Ehrlich and his husband Corey French, Keith Gulla, Craig Hanley and his wife Caroline, and Cameron Hanley; and also extended family members and many friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine is preceded in passing by her son: Michael A. Gulla.
Visiting hours will be held on THURSDAY, June 12, 2025, from 9-10:30am at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St., Norwood, MA.
Following the visitation a funeral mass will be held at 11:00am in St. Catherine Of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
