Louisa G. Marinelli, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, as a beloved resident of Walpole Health Care. Born on May 11, 1932 in Norwood, Massachusetts, Louisa was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Marianna Marinelli.
Louisa lived a life full of faith, friendship, and quiet strength. Each morning began with her devoted practice of watching daily Mass, a reflection of the deep spiritual connection that provided her with strength. Louisa lived independently throughout her adult life—an inspiring testament to her resilience and unwavering spirit.
Her love for people was evident in the joy she found at the Norwood Senior Center, where she delighted in day trips and made lasting friendships. Her favorite holiday, Christmas, was spent surrounded by loved ones at her niece Lorna’s home—a tradition she held dear. A loyal Red Sox fan, she brought her cheer to each game and into the lives of those around her.
At Walpole Health Care, Louisa earned the affectionate nickname "Sunshine," a tribute to her radiant personality. Whether playing cards with her dear friend Ginger, crafting puzzles proudly displayed by the staff, or enjoying bingo and Wheel of Fortune, Louisa’s warmth and curiosity never dimmed. Her inviting smile and willingness to learn made her a true joy to all who met her.
Louisa was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Luciano Marinelli (Norwood), Livio Marinelli (Stoughton), and Loreto Marinelli (North Andover), and her sister Leila Benthale (Garden Grove, CA). She is survived by her loving sisters Lina Carrachino (Milford), Laura Ferrara (Dedham), and Linda Sarro (Hampton, NH), along with many adoring nieces and nephews who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Louisa’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of Walpole Health Care and the Norwood Senior Center for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Norwood Council Of Aging, 275 Prospect Street, Norwood, MA 02062 in Louisa’s honor.
