Margery A. (Chamberlain) Schiano

June 26, 1927 — January 20, 2023

SCHIANO, Margery A. (Chamberlain) of Norwood, died peacefully on January 20, 2023 at the age of 95. Margery was the beloved wife of the late Sterling F. Schiano; devoted mother of Lesley Dinsmore of Dedham, Mark Schiano and his wife Joanne of Woburn, Scott Schiano and his wife Theresa of Watertown, Glen Schiano of Norwood, and Lynn Rowan and her husband George of Walpole; cherished grandmother of Bonnie, Joseph, John, Samuel, Salvatore, Alaina and Rose; dear sister of Jeff Chamberlain, Mark Chamberlain, Sallie DeViney and the late Joan Wagner, Janet Sprague, Connie Houghton and Susan Wyatt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Margery was a graduate of Dedham High class of 1945 and attended the Junior College of Commerce (Quinnipiac University). After raising her five children she went to work as one of the first two women in television sales at local retailer, Lechmere, and then, upon leaving, spent many years providing elder care. A life-long learner, with an incredibly curious mind well into her nineties, Margery took interest in everything and everyone around her. A forward thinker, student of history and lover of nature, Margery was known for her long and prodigious memory. Her happy place was her home of seventy years in Norwood, where she welcomed her children's friends, tended her magnificent flower gardens, and provided food and shelter to the birds that flocked there. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, Norwood, MA. Memorial contributions may be made in Margery's memory to Rosie's Place, 889 Harrison Avenue, Boston MA 02118 or the local charity of your choice.
