Maria E. (Constantino) Tierney

January 30, 1944 — September 4, 2023

Maria Elena (Constantino) Tierney, of Norwood, passed away on September 4, 2023. She was 79 Years old.

Maria, "Maria Elena," "Mrs. T," was everyone's favorite person. After a long career as a hairdresser, she greeted all who passed as a crossing guard at the Cleveland School in Norwood. To know her was to love her, and she would frequently leave evidence of her pink lipstick on all she delivered a kiss to. "Nobody got near her without getting the tattoo," and nobody walked away from her without smelling like the perfume section of Jordan Marsh. Incredibly giving and generous with her time and home, she would often host guests. Often friends of her children who had it rough at home, for sometimes a year or more. She was an avid shopper and loved to watch her police and fire shows; Blue Bloods, Chicago PD & Chicago Fire, to name a few. Maria bowled in a women's league in Norwood for years and was known for her bright pink bowling balls. Speaking of bright, her love for Christmas was unmatched and up until recently, she would have multiple decorated Christmas trees throughout the house year-round. She ended every phone conversation, if she was talking to a complete stranger or her best friend, with "I love you dear, I love you Hun." All she ever knew was love. Mrs. T. was happiest surrounded by the love of her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. They were her world.

Maria was the dear and devoted wife of 55 years of Thomas Tierney, Ret. Quincy PD. Loving mother of Thomas Tierney Jr. of Norwood and Timothy Tierney and his wife Kim of Dedham. Cherished grandmother, "Nona," of Ryan, Rory and Reese. Loving daughter of the late Joseph Constantino and Helen (Speridigliozzi). Dear sister of Joseph Constantino and his wife Diane "Deedee" of North Attleboro and the late Panfilio "Bobby" Constantino and Johnny "Tino" Constantino. Cherished Aunt of Francine and Scotty Booth, their children Michael and Briana and several other loving nieces and nephews. Loving nanny of Chad and Samantha Stumpo for 20 years.

Maria's Funeral will be from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. NORWOOD Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Dedham at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
