Mark C. Welch

WELCH, MARK C.  Ret. Major USMC of Norwood passed away on April 10, 2016 at the age of 44. Beloved son of Joseph M and Anita J. (Grinavic) Welch both of Norwood. Loving brother of Joseph M. Welch and his wife Donna of Tewksbury and Kristen M. Carreiro and her husband Joe of Norwood. Cherished uncle of Madison Carreiro, Juliana Welch, Kaylin Carreiro, Jack Welch, Brady Carreiro and Mason Carreiro. Mark was a highly decorated Helicopter Pilot for the USMC Corps. He had 5 deployments, 2 in Iraq, 1 in Bosnia, 1 in Kosovo and 1 in Afghanistan. Mark was a 1989 graduate of Xaverian Bros. High School in Westwood, MA and was a 1993 Graduate of the US Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. Friday April 15, 2016 at 10am followed by a funeral mass at 11am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 14, 2016 from 4-8pm. Burial with full military honors will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Fisher House at the VA Medical Center 1400 VFW Parkway W.
