Mary Catherine Faulkner, life-long resident of Norwood, passed away on April 26, 2025. She was 76 years old.
Mary was a graduate of Norwood Senior High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Stonehill College. She worked for over 37 years as a clerk at Dedham District Court. Mary loved her cats and was always eager to provide a home for any feral cats that came her way.
Mary had a passion for travelling, visiting destinations all over the world. She enjoyed parasailing and jet skiing the Bahamas, Jamaica and Belize. Her love of watersports began with a trip to California to visit her brother, Bill, when he took her snorkeling in the Channel Islands. Other travels included exploring the Grand Canyon, cruises in Florida with her uncle Dick and her cousin Lisa and relaxing on Old Silver Beach in Falmouth. Always a creative soul, Mary loved to garden and was an avid reader. She was an excellent cook, and she loved to entertain family and friends. Mary was also an avid bowler and loved to bowl with all her friends in the Early Bird Bowling League.
Mary was the loving daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Burns) Faulkner. Dear sister of Jane Faulkner of Norwood, Anne Faulkner of Rhode Island, Carol Faulkner and her husband Luther "Dinty" Child of Cambridge, and William Faulkner and his wife Kate of California. Cherished aunt of Emma Ernst and her husband Matthew of Vermont, and Gwen Child of Colorado. Great-aunt of Logan and Austin Ernst. Dear cousin of Lisa Faulkner, her partner David Pierpont, and their son Jackson Cobb, all of Mansfield. She is also survived by many other loving cousins, relatives and friends.
Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
